Our Process

Our Partner Process does not consist of panicked employees throwing resumes against the wall, hoping to hit their management-assigned numbers. (We only do that on Friday afternoons—just kidding!) We use a structured and intentional approach that is constantly building our relationship with our client organizations, and with skilled IT professionals.

 

We get to know your long-term goals, your culture, and any potential stumbling blocks for the current requirement, up front. We keep in mind, always, that hiring managers and applicants are people first. We do a lot of listening.

If we agree to search your role, then we assign it to a dedicated Talent Partner who takes responsibility for the role until it is filled. All potential candidates are screened by a hands-on Managing Partner before being forwarded to your organization.

 

We know that at a bare minimum you are hoping that a recruitment firm will provide cost-effective solutions to your staffing needs; but we also aim to make things a little less stressful over there at your desk. Making your job easier is what puts a smile on our faces.

  • Focus on Quality not Quantity of candidates who are ‘right fit’. We have access to a network of both passive and active markets through our unique candidate follow-up and other initiatives. We focus on strategic, timely searches, and our thorough pre-screening process gives us a more holistic picture than simply good technical skills on paper.

 

  • Every Client is Different. Placing a certain professional in one organization may produce many successes, while placing the same individual at another organization may result in failure. Our process is fluid, and tailored to your project. We ask the right questions and do a lot of listening so that we can optimize your search. Even when they have the same technical requirements, no two roles are ever exactly alike.

 

  • Project AND Goals Alignment. Understanding your big picture helps to meet the needs of each requirement more precisely. We clarify your short-term job requirements and your long-term organizational goals. We also ask about the short- and long-term career goals of potential candidates, to ensure a closer alignment of values and intentions, as well as skills. We establish success criteria for each hire early on in the process and then follow up, so there are fewer ‘bad surprises.’

 

  • Fairness, Accountability and Transparency, aka ‘The Good F.A.T.s’. Since many of our meetings with clients happen over food, it’s not surprising we came up with a foodie-type acronym to describe the values on which our process is founded. For example:

 

Fairness​

  • Our streamlined operations model allows us to offer customized service at a more competitive rate.  What we save in overhead, we pass along to our partners.

  • No non-compete clauses for contractors who become permanent hires after a minimum of 6 months.

  • We only accept requirements for roles that we intend to search deeply and in a timely fashion, with a dedicated Recruiting Partner.

 

Accountability

  • Contractors. In acknowledgement that our time servicing any given contract generally decreases after a certain period, for long-term contracts we decrease our margin and convert that amount into a rate increase for consultants whose performance evaluations are strong.

  • Permanent Placements. We offer a 3-month guarantee on all permanent placements, meaning if there is fall-off within the first 3 months of employment, we will back-fill the role at no extra cost.

  • Responsive trouble shooting. Any issues that arise are resolved quickly and professionally. Most problems can be resolved and dismissal is a very rare outcome.

 

Transparency

  • We provide full transparency to both client and consultant around client bill rates, contractor pay rates and margins, and all other benefits + compensation.

  • Goals and success criteria for candidate are agreed upon in advance

  • We encourage clients to meet us half way with regular performance evaluations of consultants (suggested is at least quarterly).
